It’s not often you’ll find me singing the praises of any elected official.
No matter which side of the aisle, it’s rare to find a politician that seems to have any interest in honor and integrity. There are two, however, that come to mind: Congressman Justin Amash and Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard. The latter, by the way, some are suggesting could be a viable contender in a presidential election.
I don’t know if there’s much truth to that, but what I do know is that Congresswoman Gabbard recently gave a 5-minute speech to Congress that I believe every person in this country should hear.
Her focus was on the federal decriminalization of cannabis, and I’m including it here so you can see it for yourself. In 5 minutes, Gabbard sums up all the things that have needed to be said in Washington – but too few had the stones to do it. Kudos to Congresswoman Gabbard for having the courage to do something that should’ve been done years ago.
With folks like Tulsi Gabbard fighting the good fight, I remain optimistic that we will soon end this ridiculous tragedy that we call the war on drugs.
