Pretty good deal, right?
Not that I would personally know. But from what I understand, our elected officials in Washington could elaborate.
You see, as it turns out, we bought about $2 million worth of coffee, bagels and pastries for those serving in the House of Representatives. I’m serious.
According to the watchdog group The Sunlight Foundation, both republicans and democrats have enjoyed the spoils of some very expensive catering benefits.
House Speaker John Boehner spent $64,000 of our money, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi spent $61,000 of our money, Rep. Steny Hoyer spent $52,000 of our money, and Rep. Kevin McCarthy spent $95,000 of our money – all for what looks like a very high-carb and caffeinated spread for folks who clearly have enough money to buy their own damn food!
