Microsoft came out of virtually nowhere today (pun intended), revealing its newest innovation: Window’s Holographic.

Yes, indeed, Microsoft has officially made holograms a reality. Well, an augmented reality at least, but you get the idea.

The physical unit has been dubbed HoloLens. It’s a wireless headset described as “the most advanced holographic computer the world has ever seen”.

In addition to being able to view holograms projected into the real world through a clear lens, users can also hear these holograms through spatial sound.

Project lead Alex Kipman tells us Microsoft collaborated with NASA on HoloLens.

It’s already being touted as the next generation of computing. Check it out and decide for yourself:

Until next time,
