MF Global Files for Bankruptcy

Written By Brian Hicks

Years after upgrading Lehman ahead of its bankruptcy filing, Dick Bove tried to convince CNBC’s audience of millions that all was fine – and that a buyer would emerge – with MF Global, last week.

In fact, according to Dick Bove on October 26, 2011, don’t be surprised to hear that CEO Jon Corzine has engineered a deal to sell his firm, MF Global to his former employer, Goldman Sachs.

That didn’t happen, though… (big surprise).

But MF Global did file for bankruptcy this morning.

According to Zero Hedge, not only does MF Global owe JP Morgan and Deutsche Bank $1.2 billion and $1 billion, respectively, they owe more than $840,000 to CNBC.

The complete bankruptcy filing can be found here.
