80% of Americans Want Higher Taxes

Wait... what?

When oil, food prices, and just about everything we need to survive is skyrocketing in price, the last thing we need is higher taxes... especially in a recession.

Even Obama agreed in August 2009: "You don't raise taxes in a recession.”

But here we are...

The only thing a tax increase would do is stall any chance at growth. What we need are more jobs, which will increase tax revenues.

Yet, the push is on, as Obama claims “80 percent of the public supports Democrats' demand for tax increases.”

"The American people are sold," Obama said.

I'm not really sure where the 80% was taken from, though. The last poll I saw claimed 34% were in favor.
