Ammonia Fuel: The Next Frontier in Sustainable Energy

Ammonia fuel has the potential to be a major player in the future of energy.  More specifically, green ammonia fuel. It is a clean, versatile, and safe fuel that is used to power a variety of vehicles and generate electricity.

Combining hydrogen and nitrogen gas produces green ammonia. Renewable energy sources, like solar and wind power, produce the hydrogen gas. Nitrogen gas is extracted from the air. It is a clean-burning fuel that does not produce greenhouse gases, making it a potential alternative to fossil fuels.

As the cost of green ammonia fuel comes down, it is likely to become more widely adopted. Green ammonia's versatility stems from its ability to power various vehicles and generate electricity. It finds applications in cars, trucks, ships, and airplanes, as well as in generating electricity and heating homes and businesses.

Today, we’ll explore some of the advantages of green ammonia fuel, potential holdups, and lastly, the companies working to make green ammonia fuel a commercial reality. Before we get into the benefits of green ammonia fuel, let’s take a look at what could hold it back.

The Challenges Facing Green Ammonia Fuel

There are two main hurdles when it comes to green ammonia fuel replacing fossil fuels. First is the cost. Right now, the cost of green ammonia is currently higher than the cost of fossil fuels. This is perhaps the biggest barrier for green ammonia’s widespread adoption.

The next big hurdle for green ammonia’s energy space takeover? Green ammonia is difficult to produce. The production of green ammonia requires renewable energy sources and a complex process. This makes it more difficult and expensive to produce than fossil fuels. But what if it didn’t have to be so complex? More on this later…

The third issue holding green ammonia fuel back is the lack of infrastructure. There is currently a lack for the production, storage, and transportation of green ammonia. This is a major advantage the fossil fuel industry has over most emerging energy sources. From production to infrastructure, the fossil fuel industry is extremely well established.

Despite these challenges, green ammonia fuel has the potential to be a major player in the future of energy. As the cost of green ammonia decreases and infrastructure for production, storage, and transportation develops, its adoption is likely to increase. Green ammonia, a clean, versatile, and safe fuel, can power various vehicles and generate electricity.

Now that we’ve discussed the hurdles facing the green ammonia industry, let’s take a look at the positives.

Green Ammonia Fuel and a Cleaner Energy Economy

As mentioned before, green ammonia fuel is a truly clean-burning fuel. When it is burned, it produces only water and nitrogen. This is FAR cleaner than burning fossil fuels which produce greenhouse gasses. As the world pushes to reign in climate change, ammonia fuel will become increasingly popular.

Another benefit of green ammonia fuel? It's versatile. Green ammonia's versatility enables its usage in powering diverse vehicles like cars, trucks, ships, and airplanes. Additionally, it can generate electricity and provide heating for homes and businesses, similar to fossil fuels.

Unlike fossil fuels (and even lithium batteries), green ammonia is relatively safe to handle. It is not flammable and doesn’t explode easily. It’s no secret that gasoline is highly flammable, and lithium batteries are exploding daily.

In addition to the physical property advantages of ammonia, there are other factors propelling the green ammonia industry forward. Governments around the world are increasingly adopting policies that support the development of green ammonia fuel. For example, the United States has set a goal of producing 10 million metric tons of green ammonia by 2030. And the U.S. isn’t the only country investing in green ammonia.

For example, Siemens is investing in a project to produce green ammonia in Germany. It seems that governments and public interest in green ammonia is ramping up. This is majorly in part to the fact that green ammonia is potentially the solution to weening ourselves off of fossil fuels.

The Ammonia Stocks to Transform the Energy Market

Overall, The green ammonia fuel industry is positioned for growth as technologies being developed aim to enhance affordability and accessibility of green ammonia. In addition, government policies and industry investment are supporting the development of this promising technology.

Considering this, investors are actively seeking the company that is in the best position to capitalize on that growth. There are a number of companies competing for the crown of the ammonia industry.

Three of the best green ammonia stocks that investors can buy right now are:

  • Linde (NYSE: LIN)
  • Air Liquide (OTCMKTS: AIQUY)
  • Cummins (NYSE: CMI)

Each of these companies is well-positioned to ride the ammonia industry wave for years to come. However, there is another company that could dwarf the growth by all three companies combined.

Keith Kohl has been closely watching a company that owns the patent to a cheap and clean ammonia production method. It’s a long-awaited upgrade to the conventional method of creating ammonia fuel.

It’s a tiny company with less than $20 million market capitalization in U.S. dollars. Although they’re small, their impact on the ammonia industry could be huge. The company owns a patent for a novel, carbon-neutral ammonia production method, and it’s already in testing at a major Canadian university.

This revolutionary upgrade completely changes the game when it comes to ammonia production. That’s what makes this a more attractive ammonia stock than the industry leaders listed above.

You might think that a company this small is still in its pre-ipo investing stages, but I have good news. Shares of this publicly traded company are available for less than $1. But that’s not the only ammonia stock Keith has his eyes on.

If you’re looking to take advantage of the ammonia fuel market, I highly recommend you check out Keith’s research on these two ammonia fuel companies
