A Tech Revolution Is Flying Under the Radar

Somewhere over Manhattan, a plane with no pilot, no noise, and no runway took off, flew a test route across the East River, and landed on a rooftop.

Typically, that’d garner some attention.

After all, a drone that flies people, potentially replacing helicopters and potentially car rides with cutting-edge technology, is kind of a big deal.

But today we’re all focused on the CPI, bond yields, rate hikes, energy prices, and the war with Iran.

So even a story as compelling as this gets drowned out — along with the investment opportunity.

Well, it’s not lost on me.

For years, electric air taxis were the kind of thing skeptics loved to write off as a science project running on venture capital and hope.

But now they’re real. Very real.

One of the leading companies in this space is in the fifth and final stage of FAA certification — the last regulatory hurdle before commercial passenger flights.

It already has aircraft flying and more in production.

This month, it launched a piloted public flight tour as part of the FAA’s official Integration Pilot Program.

Its chief rival isn’t far behind, with its own commercial air-taxi flights in a major U.S. city expected to begin within weeks.

And it’s all happening with government backing.

President Trump signed an executive order specifically directing the FAA to fast-track eVTOL deployment and cut the red tape that used to slow programs like this down.

The FAA’s resulting pilot program now spans dozens of states, and it just added its sixth location this month.

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy showed up in person for that one, touring a Texas test site on September 10 and watching the flight demonstrations firsthand.

He toured a similar site in Florida back in August. And in June, he became the first sitting transportation secretary in American history to personally fly in one of these new aircraft.

Cabinet officials don’t usually go out of their way for a nascent industry like that. It’s a signal, and a loud one.

But you get more of a sense as to why the government is so interested when you consider the military applications.

Indeed, the Pentagon has been quietly building this industry for years.

It’s got eVTOLs flying real military missions under a Pentagon program called Agility Prime, which traces its roots back to 2020. The aircraft are ferrying personnel and cargo around U.S. bases as we speak, and they’re running patrols with a smaller heat signature and a lower noise profile than a helicopter.

One day they’ll carry special forces teams into combat (if they haven’t already).

Another eVTOL company recently teamed up with Anduril to build an autonomous, defense-specific version of its aircraft, aimed squarely at Pentagon procurement dollars.

Then it partnered with Palantir to fold its Foundry AI platform into manufacturing and flight operations.

And it picked up a reconnaissance-drone business generating real revenue today, off an existing customer base spanning dozens of countries.

These companies are standing up full defense segments alongside their air-taxi programs. At least one calls itself a “physical AI platform for aerospace and defense” in its own investor materials.

Automakers and airlines have piled in too, with partnership and investment commitments running into the hundreds of millions of dollars.

That’s real capital, committed early, before the commercial rollout has even started.

Yet, despite all of that, these companies are trading well below the level these advances would suggest.

Depending on which name you look at, shares are down anywhere from roughly a quarter to half their value this year, and well over 60% off their highs.

Short interest is elevated. The market’s read is dilution risk.

One issue is that these companies are still burning hundreds of millions a year to get to commercial scale, and investors are betting there’s another round of share issuance coming before the revenue does.

That’s not unreasonable — but it’s also exactly the kind of gap that creates opportunity.

I’ve seen this pattern before.

It plays out every time a capital-intensive, pre-revenue technology crosses from prototype to regulatory approval. The stock lags the milestone.

The operational story and the stock price have completely decoupled.

The technology works. The regulators are signing off. The Pentagon’s already writing checks.

Wall Street just hasn’t caught up.

It’s distracted, worried about near-term cash needs, and hasn’t figured out what to do with a new mode of transportation that’s arriving faster than anyone priced in.

Then commercial flights start generating real ticket revenue and the market has to catch up all at once.

Remember, the FAA doesn’t grant final-stage certification on a whim.

It’s a multi-year process involving thousands of hours of test flights, structural testing, and software verification.

Getting to stage five means the finish line is measured in months, not years.

But now we’re just inches from the finish line.

So while the market obsesses over the next rate decision, an entire new category of transportation is clearing its last major hurdle, drawing in Pentagon dollars and serious defense-tech partnerships along the way, and almost nobody has noticed.

That’s created a massive opportunity for investors — one I’ve been tracking closely.

And I’ve got a specific recommendation on which of these companies is best positioned to cash in first. You can get the full details in my latest report right here.

Fight on,
