It "Shot Down Everything We Put in the Air"
The Golden Dome has been shrouded in secrecy since its inception.
But a few months ago, the Department of War put it to the test… literally.
Over the course of two classified demonstrations for military brass and industry insiders, the Pentagon conducted live-fire tests of Golden Dome hardware.
And the system performed flawlessly.
It “shot down everything that we put in the air in a matter of 34 minutes,” Golden Dome director Gen. Michael Guetlein told the Space and Missile Defense Symposium in Huntsville on August 11.
More impressively, a few weeks later, Deputy Director Lt. Gen. Brian Gibson elaborated, saying that the tests were actually designed to fail.
In other words, the tests weren’t meant to showcase things that already work — they were deliberately complex and intended to push systems toward their limits rather than simply demonstrate capabilities already known to work.
“We want to learn where failure is so we can build to success,” said Gibson.
That’s an astoundingly positive result, not just for the system itself — which has been criticized by many as a costly boondoggle — but for the DoW, the American public, the technicians behind the technology, and, maybe most of all, investors.
Why We Need the Golden Dome
For anyone wondering why America needs a missile shield, Iran and Ukraine ought to be illuminating case studies.
Just look around at the damage Iran has done with its arsenal of Shahed drones and short-range missiles.
Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE have all come under fire. And those attacks have at times resulted in the loss of American military equipment and even lives.
However, Israel — a far more frequent target of airborne attacks than any of those countries — has remained relatively unscathed.
There’s no mystery as to why. It has the Iron Dome.
Ukraine, meanwhile, has seen its cities leveled by an unceasing onslaught of missile and drone attacks from Russia for more than four years now.
Of course, more recently, the country has done its own share of damage — using drone swarms to target Russian oil refineries, warehouses, and transportation infrastructure (roads, rail, bridges, supply trucks, cargo ships etc.).

Now, for the time being, America’s geographical barriers (namely two large oceans) have kept it safe from these kinds of attacks.
But the unforgiving reality is that both drones and missiles are getting more and more advanced — to the point that they’re on the verge of outpacing our Cold War-era defenses.
And they will at some point be capable of striking America’s mainland — even from great distances.
In fact, Russia and China already possess highly advanced hypersonic missiles capable of piercing America’s missile defenses.
That’s exactly why we need a layered shield capable of intercepting ballistic missiles, hypersonics, cruise missiles, and drone swarms at different points in flight — even in space.
It’s why these latest tests — of a system that shoots down “everything we put in the air” — are so important.
And it’s why investors are being presented with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Where the Money Is Moving
Congress has so far dispersed $22.5 billion to start building Golden Dome architecture.
But that money is already drying up, with more than 90% of it obligated in just under six months.
Radars, space-based interceptors, and ground sites are all already on contract. But still more is needed.
Much more.
There has to be a fully cohesive architecture, with software and sensing layers that tie everything together. All of the pieces must work in sync to detect, track, and eliminate potential threats in a matter of seconds.
It’s an end-product that’s unlike anything ever conceived, much less produced.
Which is why the traditional defense primes — Lockheed Martin, RTX, and Northrop Grumman — can’t do it alone.
They need the software, hardware, and know-how of upstart defense tech firms that hail from Silicon Valley.
And that’s why those classified test venues weren’t limited to military personnel.
“It wasn’t just military,” Deputy Director Gibson said. “We invited industry partners with non-program-of-record things to come inside those venues.”
That means that companies with no existing Golden Dome contracts got a seat inside a classified live-fire demonstration — something that’s not standard Pentagon procedure.
Normally, you have to win a contract before you get read into the program.
But the Golden Dome is running that sequence in reverse because it needs cutting-edge solutions for never-before-seen problems.
Earlier this year, the Pentagon quietly launched the Golden Dome Ecosystem Hub — a digital portal where startups, smaller contractors, and universities can submit technology directly and get unclassified information on what the program needs.
Gibson said the Hub has already logged thousands of submissions, and many of them are further along than you’d expect.
So while the traditional defense primes — Lockheed Martin, RTX, and Northrop Grumman — will play a huge part in making the Golden Dome a reality…
It’s actually this smaller group of defense tech upstarts that have the most to gain.
Because they’re about to start logging contracts that may be bigger than their entire market caps.
I’ve been tracking one such company doing exactly that for a while now — an AI-driven signal intelligence and edge-compute contractor that’s already inside the Golden Dome pipeline.
And you can get my full report on it right here.
But you better act fast because of the incredible rate at which this project is evolving and this money is being awarded.
Fight on,
