Good job Steve. So now how do we get Bernanke out of there? And Obama too if he's unwilling to withdraw the guy's reappointment, ask for his resignation,or whatever it takes. I doubt there is any real consensus to support BB or his QE2 among people who understand it, who know what it is supposed to do, or why, or what the risks are. But there are also people still paying on unfavorable mortgages, under water, who would like to be made whole by BB's re-inflation ploy. A complete analysis of how Bernanke's gambit unravels each knit and purl of the economy may take more time than we have -- but a good start could include the October 8th speech of Von Mises Institute scholar Mark Thornton at http://mises.org/daily/4798. (You needn't be a fan of the Austrian school to like it.)
