Throughout my longer-than-I’d-like-to-admit journey as a Wall Street banker, financial adviser, and newsletter writer, I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of clients — from Saudi princes and Texas oil billionaires to visionary entrepreneurs like Elon Musk himself.

Yet the most rewarding experiences for me have been not with these super-wealthy elites but with everyday people like my family and friends… people like you and me.

The cornerstone of my career has been helping those with little to no investment experience, guiding them to not only meet but exceed their financial aspirations.

My transition from the high-rise corner offices of Wall Street to the humble corner lots of Main Street was driven by a simple yet profound realization…

So to drive that point home, let me share the journey of two such clients who are members of my own family — we’ll call them “my cousins” and withhold their names in my tradition of “protecting the innocent.”

One, a real estate investor, sought to diversify her portfolio after the devastating real estate collapse of the late 2000s.
