Even if you already have rare earths in your portfolio, buy more…

China just announced it would expand its rare earth quotas to include iron alloys containing the elements, according to reports.

This only strengthens the US need to stockpile, which could help the above names jump even more.

According to The Wall Street Journal:

Rep. Mike Coffman (R., Colo.) recently introduced an amendment to the fiscal 2012 National Defense Authorization Act that would direct the Defense Department to draw up plans to build an inventory of the materials, which are found in high-tech military hardware as well as in consumer electronics. The defense bill goes to the House floor next week. The plan, the amendment says, is to help the Pentagon “avoid reliance on a single source of supply.”
